PEGGY J.RICHARD
Peggy found the benefits of yoga by accident in the middle of the night during a migraine headache in Fall 2000. Ending up on her knees pressing her hands against her forehead against the floor a thought crossed her mind that it felt like it might be yoga. The next day she began practicing with a library book on the pool deck of the apartment complex. By the following year she completed a teacher training with June Denison of Joyful Yoga in Fort Myers and started teaching a children’s yoga class at the Joyful Yoga Studio.
A Child’s Path to Yoga
By the end of July 2002 Peggy had completed two additional trainings.
*Next Generation Yoga Children’s Yoga Training with Jodi Komitor in New York City
*Discovery Yoga RYT 200 with Deva Parnell in St. Augustine, FL
Between 2002-2005 Peggy established “A Child’s Path to Yoga”, offering sessions at community centers, yoga studios, and private homes afternoons and weekends when she wasn’t at her day job in the elementary classroom. Peggy continued to weave yoga experiences into her Kindergarten classrooms for the next fifteen years after relocating from South Florida to Southern California. In 2020, the Pandemic brought her to the Front Range, and in 2023, Wishflower YogaPlay was born.
While wandering the small town of Niwot, CO, Peggy saw that a children's bookshop was underway in the historic old newspaper building. Once it opened, The Wandering Jellyfish bookshop was like a dream come true! Peggy set up monthly storytime yoga sessions with the owners and spent the next year and a half truly living the dream! She also. started offering Preschool Yoga Storytime and Tween Relaxation and Yoga classes through the Longmont Parks and Recreation center, as well as bringing playful yoga sessions to preschoolers at Lavender Hill, a sweet in-home Waldorf style program where she worked part time between Feb. 2023 and May 2025.
